An ECITB Global licensed training provider is pushing forward with helping improve health and safety in Qatar on the back of being recognised with a regional accolade.
Vibrant Global, based in Doha, was named Middle East and Caspian Regional Winner in the International Training Provider of the Year category at the Engineering Construction Industry (ECI) Training & Development Awards in November 2023.
The Doha-based company, which has been delivering bespoke training, inspection and consultancy services for over a decade, gaining numerous international accreditations, was honoured with the award for being a “keen and forward-leaning ECITB licensee”.
Operations Director Jithin Chakkooth, who co-founded Vibrant with Managing Director Santosh Kumar Pillai in 2012, said winning the award was an “awesome, proud” moment to have its efforts recognised.
But Jithin said Vibrant’s main focus is about “making a difference in the community”.
“We have a mission like many companies,” he added. “Vibrant works on the concept of the Golden Circle created by Simon Sinek, which works on the three-circle basis of why, how and what.
“In the centre it’s all about why and our why is to create a safe environment for everyone in Qatar.”
Safety at heart of everything
The judges at the ECI Awards recognised Vibrant for “placing safety training at the heart of everything it does”.
Alongside delivering ECITB Global products such as the International Health and Safety Passport (IHSP), the training provider runs a series of events and supports initiatives to help bring the safety community together in Qatar.
Since 2015, Vibrant Global has organised an annual gala-type safety conference in Qatar for more than 200 people, including decision-makers from employers and organisations.
The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Conclave, which is held in May each year around the time of Vibrant’s anniversary of being founded, features speakers, presentations, a dinner and awards.
At the 2024 Conclave, delegates were invited to sign a special wall to mark their commitment to safety as the event celebrated its 10th year.
“One of the big reasons we do the Conclave is that nobody is doing a safety conference like this in Qatar,” said Jithin.
“One of the motivations in the early days was a lack of understanding on the changing regulations in Qatar and we felt it was easier to bring people together under one roof to help educate them and create a discussion around safety.”

Creating safety community
Vibrant is also involved in safety campaigns with the North Field Expansion Project, which aims to increase liquefied natural gas (LNG) production capacity for European markets, and works with government bodies such as the Ministry of Labour.
At the start of 2024, Vibrant added another event to its calendar with ‘Echo’ health and safety evenings at its training centre in Nuaija.
“With the Conclave being a huge event, we wanted something more frequent with smaller gatherings to discuss matters around safety,” said Jithin.
“We hold these Echo events each month with different themes and speakers, such as the first that was about the value of HSE certification.
“It’s all about trying to create a safety community in Qatar.”
Vibrant became an ECITB Licensed Training Provider in 2022, delivering the IHSP, excavation supervisor, flagman and working in confined spaces courses.
