A warm welcome to Nakawa Vocational Training College in Uganda who joined ECITB Global’s roster of international training providers this week.
The Nakawa Vocational Training College (VTC), based in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, has become an ECITB Licenced Training Provider after an extensive Approval Process. Yesterday (22 September), they held a small ceremony to celebrate the fact that they are now able to offer internationally accredited qualifications.
They are now accredited by the ECITB to deliver the widely recognised International Health and Safety Passport qualifications as well as technical training and testing in Non-Critical Welding, Electrical Installation and Electrical Maintenance.
Tristan Kemp, Head of ECITB Global, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nakawa VTC to the ECITB Global fold as it becomes the fifth ECITB Licenced Training Provider in Uganda and an important part of the 11 we have overall in East and South Africa.
“The college, which is partly funded by the Ugandan Government’s Ministry of Education & Sports, is now in its 50th year.
“During this time it has trained thousands of Ugandans in electrical, automotive, construction, welding and carpentry skills through its nationally recognised certificates and diploma level qualifications.”
